31 Day Challenge 2013 - Day 03 : Yellow

Happy Saturdaaaaaaay :D

This time I was FAST! Didn't waste any time today and already at 8am I sat here, covered in nail polish and acrylic paint ^^

Oh yeah, I tried for this design the first time ever acrylic paint! I got a great offer on 6 basic colors together in a set in a local store and for SURE I bought it. :)

Soooo now to today's design: MINIONS *_*
I love love love them! Sure, I am late with my design since most of them came out after the 2nd movie, but since today's challenge is yellow, it really made sence for me to try it :)

The yellow and grey in my design is normal nail polish, the rest is acrylic paint.

Oh, here you can check out my last year's yellow nail design: CLICK

I am really happy how my tiny Minions turned out, and I keep starring at my nails and kinda play with them :D

Polishes I used:
Yellow: OPI "The IT Color"
Grey: China Glaze "Recycle"
Blue, Black, White & Red: Sang Acrylic Paint

I wish you guys a great and warm weekend! Here it's 20°C in Helsinki today and super sunny, sooo beautiful *_*

31 Day Challenge 2013 - Day 01: Red

Hi Girls!!!

I decided, since my last 31 Day Challenge is exactly one year ago, to re-do it this year :)
But there are a few changes. Last year I did the challenge with many other bloggers together which is not happening this year, and as well I will just post every 3 days because I have nowadays such a huge way to travel from my job that I am just dead when I come home.
But since it's completely in my own hands now I can do WHATEVER I WANT *muhahaha* :D
Btw, here you can see what I did last year on my challenge: CLICK!!!

First day is, as always, my least favourite color ever, RED. Buuuut I think I did something nice with it and I do like my nails ^_^ Sure, at least one million people did already strawberry nails, but I still like them :)

Colors I used:

Red = p2 color victim "Summer Red"
Light Green = Snowcrystal "Celery Green"
Dark Green = OPI "Don't mess with OPI"
Yellow = China Glaze "Kalahari Kiss"

I guess I will see you then on wednesday for my orange manicure? Take care until then :D

Oh, here the 31 Day Challenge picture I took from Chalkboard Nails.
She did an awesome job creating them!

Vintage Rose & Polka Dot Nail Design

Happy Monday!!!

Well...I actually hate mondays, but who doesn't? :D We have to do the best out of it - like for example posting a new nail design which I did yesterday ^^

I already twice did vintage rose designs, once for a friend with purple base and pink roses, and once last summer with a grey base and rosé roses (check it out HERE).

So this time I actually wanted not every nail to be the same, so I googled a little and saw so many designs where the accent nails had polka dots or stripes - and I went for dots :)

Check it out ^_^

And with flash

Polishes I used:
Turquoise = Wet n Wild "I Need a Refresh-Mint"
Pink = Golden Rose No. 221
Dark Pink = China Glaze "Fly"
White = OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls"
Green = IsaDora

It is actually so easy to create, because the roses should not be perfectly round. You will never find a round rose in nature. So the shapes should be a little asymetric. Later you drop one tiny dot of a darker polish into your roses and swirl it a little with a toothpick or a needle. It creates a more 3D illusion and gives some life.
Then you grab a dotting tool for your polka dots and add some green tiny leafes on your roses - DONE :D

Hope you liked my design and see you hopefully soon again ^^

10 Days Summer Challenge - Day 08: Summer Jewellery

Hiiiiiiiiii !!!!

I am sorry that I broke my "I post every 2nd day" rule... I was just so stressed and tired from my first week of work, and I couldn't focus any more at some point. Man, my mails looked totally homeless until today - shame :D

Now, even too late, I post our 8th day of the summer challenge, which focus of summer jewellery.
I had not really an idea what to do, until I googled it :) And there I saw a ton of colorful jewelry, mostly necklaces, but as well earrings or bracelets. A ton of beads in every color of the rainbow :)
So I picked my dotting tools, a bunch of bright colors and that was it basically ^_^

I think it turned out nice and I like how simple and yet colorful it is :)
As a base I used 2 coats of OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls", my new favourite white ever.

Colors I used:
Thumb = Essence Nude Glam "Cafè Olè"
Opi "What's with the Cattitude?"
Pointer = OPI "Don't Mess With OPI"
Rimmel "Lemon Drop"
Middle Finger = Golden Rose No. 213
GOSH "Pool Party"
Ring Finger = Rimmel "Sorbet So Good"
OPI "Gothic Lolita"
Pinkie = China Glaze "Aquadelic"
Models Own "Peaches & Cream"

I will try to post day no. 09 of the challenge until the end of the week, lets hope that I don't immediately fall asleep again at home like last week :D Man, children can be such an energy sucker ^^

Dandelion Nail Art for Talia Joy

Good morning everybody

Today's manicure has a sad background.
As many of you probably already heared, the amazing young Talia, an incredible happy and talented little girl and YouTuber, flew to heaven on tuesday after fighting for cancer for 6 long years.

It's an incredible sad story, and Talia inspired thousands of people all over the world with her joy for make-up and her happy personality. She was only 13 years old when she passed away, and still already acomplished more than most of us.

She was absolutely passionate about fashion, trends, nail art and make-up and her YouTube page has more than 20 million! clicks. Absolutely amazing!

Here you can see her heart touching visit on the Ellen-Show:

Today thousand of bloggers all over the world participate in an awesome action from NailPolishWars, to create a mint-manicure to remember Talia. Her last Instagram picture showed a mint nail polish.

I decided to use a mint background color (China Glaze "Aquadelic"), topped it with a holographic glitter (Chick Polish "Fairy Snot"), and then paint dandelions and flying seeds on my nails.
They are so pretty and still so fragile, which reminded me on little Talia.
On my pinkie I glued a little star, which shall represent her flying away with the wind, like the dandelion seeds.

Talia, hope you found your peace and thank you for being such an incredible person.

You can see a lot more manicures on facebook and instagram with the code #mintmanicuresfortaliajoy

Btw, the white I used is China Glaze "White On White", and the dark green is OPI "Don't Mess With OPI", mixed with black.
Have a great friday everybody!

CrowsToes - Heartshaped Box of Horse *!@#!

Ladies and (maybe) Gentleman, welcome back ;)

Yesterday in the kindergarten I slipped on a stupid little toy on the floor, bend myself to the right side to avoid falling, and dislocated something in my back.
After a lot of pain and a visit of the doctor I got diagnosed with a trapped nerv, got cracked back in place, got injection and painkillers and cannot work until monday now :/

At least I can pay more attention to my loved polishes now, this makes the pain a little better ^^

Today I wanna show you another beauty I just recieved 2 days ago from Llarowe
The brand is called CrowsToes, and the polish has an awesome name which made me laugh so badly :D Heartshaped Box of Horse *!@#! - it´s from this years valentine´s day collection.

The polish is a clear base, packed with micro and tiny red hex glitter, little brown square glitter and medium gold hex glitter. Just an awesome glitterbomb in a great color combo.

I decided to layer this beauty over China Glaze Something Sweet, a cotton candy pink polish, opaque in 2 coats.

Here one shot of Something Sweet on its own.

Now back to my CrowsToes beauty - it is just stunning! Application was very easy, you get a TON of glitter on the brush and its very simple to place it on the nail. Dry time was totally average. I topped the polishes with one coat of Essie Good to Go.

Now one picture how the polish looks in the shadow.

And, as last, a close up shot of the bottle :)

Hope you enjoyed my swatches - have a great wednesday everybody!!
