10 Days Summer Challenge - Day 08: Summer Jewellery

Hiiiiiiiiii !!!!

I am sorry that I broke my "I post every 2nd day" rule... I was just so stressed and tired from my first week of work, and I couldn't focus any more at some point. Man, my mails looked totally homeless until today - shame :D

Now, even too late, I post our 8th day of the summer challenge, which focus of summer jewellery.
I had not really an idea what to do, until I googled it :) And there I saw a ton of colorful jewelry, mostly necklaces, but as well earrings or bracelets. A ton of beads in every color of the rainbow :)
So I picked my dotting tools, a bunch of bright colors and that was it basically ^_^

I think it turned out nice and I like how simple and yet colorful it is :)
As a base I used 2 coats of OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls", my new favourite white ever.

Colors I used:
Thumb = Essence Nude Glam "Cafè Olè"
Opi "What's with the Cattitude?"
Pointer = OPI "Don't Mess With OPI"
Rimmel "Lemon Drop"
Middle Finger = Golden Rose No. 213
GOSH "Pool Party"
Ring Finger = Rimmel "Sorbet So Good"
OPI "Gothic Lolita"
Pinkie = China Glaze "Aquadelic"
Models Own "Peaches & Cream"

I will try to post day no. 09 of the challenge until the end of the week, lets hope that I don't immediately fall asleep again at home like last week :D Man, children can be such an energy sucker ^^

Purple & Pink Half Moon Manicure

Happy Tuesday!!!

How are you guys? I am exhausted from work but still did a new nail design today because my old one totally started to fall apart :D

Polishes I used:
  • Rimmel 60 Seconds - 610 Pompous
  • China Glaze - Sweet Hook
  • Dollish Polish - Wicked Wario

I started with one coat of my dark purple polish - is is very opaque and has such a beautiful shimmer :)

After I picked a special scissor I bought a few days ago at my local TIGER shop. It is so awesome for half moon manicures!!

So I cut some average scotch tape with my scossor placed in on the bottom of my nails and painted over with the light pink polish. I used 2 quick coats this made it opaque.

This is how it looked like after I removed the tapes:

Now I grabbed my purple Dollish Polish color. It is very tiny round purple glitter in a clear base. And from time to time you find some green and yellow hexagonal glitter pieces or very rarely some white square glitter.
I painted these glitter all over the pink.

Here a close up shot into the bottle:

I am pretty happy with the result of my manicure. I love the scissor and will still try a lot of other color combinations :)

Take care!!

Retro Stripes

Happy Sunday!!!

I hope you guys have had a great weekend - mine was awesome :)
Spend yesterday with my best friend here in Finland and painted my nails while sitting on her kitchen table ^^ Unfortunately it doesn´t turned out so clean like I wanted it to look like, but since I haven´t had striping tape with me I painted all lines freehand with a little nail art brush.
I still really like how it turned out ^^

Polishes I used:
  • Wild & Mild Nail Art Pen - White
  • Rimmel London - 045 Misty Jade
  • O.P.I. - Cuckoo For This Color
I painted on 2 coats of the dark beautiful teal O.P.I. polish. It was almost opaque with already one coat.
As you probably can see, my polish got tiny little bubbles >_< But this is just because I used a new cheep fast drying polish on top, which obviously was crap :D The polish itself dried without any bubble.

After I picked my nail art brush and tried to create as straight lines a s possible with the mint green polish. Then I painted one thin line on top with white - and that´s it :)
Especially from far away I love my nails right now - even it is not perfectly painted ^^

Have a good new week and see you soon!

  • O.P.I. "Pirouette My Whistle"

31 Day Challenge 2012 - Day 22: Inspired By A Song

Moi!!

I am late like always, what a surprise ;)

Today´s topic is very important and personal for me because I choose my favourite song ever!
HIM - The Funeral of Hearts

I totally fell for this band when I was 14 years old and it was a song which stuck forever in my head. I just love it so much!
And now, 11 years later, I create a nail design inspired by the lyrics and the official music video :)

I would say, watch the video first and then check my pictures:

I tried to create a light blue/grey/black background like in the video and then painted a few symbols which appear in the lyrics. Sun, moon, wind (I choose clouds instead) and fire.
And of course the Heartagram, the band logo.

Polishes I used:

  •  Golden Rose Nail Art Polish
  • Wild and Crazy "Anchorage"
  • Snowcrystal Now Limited Edition "Powder Blue"
  • Rimmel I Love Fruities "Lemon Drop"

  • Lumene "Get Color"
  • Golden Rose "No. 213"
  • Wild and Crazy "Colorado Springs"
  • China Glaze "Recycle"
I started with a light blue/grey gradient and after I painted the symbols with a tiny sponge and a toothpick on my nails. The black tip is painted with the nail art polish´s brush.

She was the sun, shining upon
The tomb of your hopes and dreams so frail.
He was the moon, painting you
With it´s glow so vulnerable and pale

She was the wind, carrying in
All the troubles and fears you´ve for years tried to forget
He was the fire, restless and wild
And you were like a moth to that flame

The Heartagram

I hope you liked my design idea :) See you tomorrow!!!

31 Day Challenge 2012 - Day 20: Water Marble

Hello :)

Grrr I hate water marble!! So... now you know.

Still I tried it again and (3rd time already) again without much success :D I took at least 20 turns and the polish always dried within 45sec, I could hardly get ANY design done because at the time I dipped my toothpick in it was almost completely dry already. And this with 3 different water temperatures and 6 different polishes... damn! And I dit NOT use any fast drying polish or had a window open... why is this happening to me? ;(

Then I as well screwed 2 nails up during drying time, so my pointer is pretty lame right now on the tip, just lost polish there. And before it was the best looking nail grrrr!
At least the pinkie and the ringfinger are quiet ok.
But thanks to your positive response - helped my broken soul a lot <3 It really does look like hot chocolate :D realized it just now ^^

  • Jessica "Pumpkin Delight"
  • Wild and Crazy "Crunch"
  • Rimmel "Mocha Fever"
And here some pictures... enjoy :D :D :D

I think it looks as well a little bit weird because I choose glitter polishes which got a little flaky when they started to spread. Oh, did I mention that it hardly did not spread at all? :D

Please let tomorrow be easier - see you guys!!!
