31 Day Challenge 2013 - Day 04: Green

Welcome back dear polish addicts :)

Today I am already on day 4 of my looooong 31 day challenge, which means: GREEN NAILS!

And I had a hard time to decide which kind of green polishes I wanted to use, I own so many!!! So I came up with a Stained Glass Window design where I could include a faw of my favourite greens :)

Basically it was a very easy and nice manicure. I started to paint my nails with a beautiful grey-ish green as a base, OPI "Thanks a Windmillion", and then I used every other green one by one and painted freehand a little shape on each nail, wherever I wanted it to be :) Just out of my mood. Took a while but the result really was nice!
In the end I used as well my favourite golden polish ever, OPI "GoldenEye", to set an accent, and sure I created black lines around each green piece with a black striper.
That was it ^_^

(btw, this was my last years green manicure: CLICK)

I think I'm in love *_*
I really need to try these manicure again! It took a while to create but was really easy and the effect is just stunning!
Hey that's why I love these 31 day challenges! Because you finally try techniques you never did before :) I'm glad I did it again this year ^^

Polishes I used:
Light Green - IsaDora Wonder Nails "Marzipan"
Grey-ish Green - OPI "Thanks A Windmillion"
Neon Green - Golden Rose "No. 207"
Medium Green - OPI "Don't Mess With OPI"
Dark Green - OPI "Cuckoo For This Color"
Gold - OPI "Goldeneye"
+ Black Nail Art Striper

I hope that you had a great start into this week and that I will see you again in a few days :)

Check out right here which designs are still about to come:

Vintage Rose & Polka Dot Nail Design

Happy Monday!!!

Well...I actually hate mondays, but who doesn't? :D We have to do the best out of it - like for example posting a new nail design which I did yesterday ^^

I already twice did vintage rose designs, once for a friend with purple base and pink roses, and once last summer with a grey base and rosé roses (check it out HERE).

So this time I actually wanted not every nail to be the same, so I googled a little and saw so many designs where the accent nails had polka dots or stripes - and I went for dots :)

Check it out ^_^

And with flash

Polishes I used:
Turquoise = Wet n Wild "I Need a Refresh-Mint"
Pink = Golden Rose No. 221
Dark Pink = China Glaze "Fly"
White = OPI "My Boyfriend Scales Walls"
Green = IsaDora

It is actually so easy to create, because the roses should not be perfectly round. You will never find a round rose in nature. So the shapes should be a little asymetric. Later you drop one tiny dot of a darker polish into your roses and swirl it a little with a toothpick or a needle. It creates a more 3D illusion and gives some life.
Then you grab a dotting tool for your polka dots and add some green tiny leafes on your roses - DONE :D

Hope you liked my design and see you hopefully soon again ^^

31 Day Challenge 2012 - Day 10 + 11: Gradient & Polka Dots

Moi!

Yesterday I just couldn´t finnish my nails so I just combined 2 days with each other :) Sneaky Cat :D

I think this is really a autumn design. Fits to the couds here and the cold nights.
I am actually happy that I can start no to use darker colours again - we had TOO many neons during spring and summer ;)

Polishes I used:
  • China Glaze "I Herd That"
  • Isadora Wonder Nail "719 Forest"
I used 2 coats of the golden polish (which I really love! It is awesome polish!) and created after a simple gradient with a normal soft make up sponge. I painted on both polishes directly on the sponge. Works always best for me :)

After I picked a medium sized dotting tool and just dotted on some of the gold over the forest green.
Sad that you cannot see how the green polish looks alone on the nails. It is just absolutely awesome! Bought it last autumn and I was immediately in love with it!
Have to show you some swatches at some point :)

See you tomorrow for day 12!!!

31 Day Challenge 2012 - Day 04: Green

Hiiiiii :D

Green, green is the color I see, if you are wearing green then show it to me ^_^

I love my design today, it is just soooo simple but super super cute.
Ever since I saw it randomly in the internet one day with red apples I knew I HAVE to re-do this at some point - today was the day!

Polishes I used:
  • White Nail Art Polish
  • Lumene "Close To You"
  • Isadora Wonder Nail "729 Marzipan"
  • Isadora Wonder Nail "653 Mellow Yellow"
  • Rimmel "185 Mocha Fever"
  • O.P.I. "Don´t Mess With OPI"

For the apple design I just used the polish´s own brush and created basically a heart shape on half of my nail. Then I took a tiny paintbrush and painted the stalk and a small leave. I wanted to have one apple look like cut into half so I choose a light yellow polish and painted with the polish´s brush a little bit smaller apple shape over one of the green apples. In this case my ringfinger. Inside I added 2 tiny seeds. After I picked my white nail art polish and created a light reflex on the right side of each apple to give it more live.
Finnish with a topcoat and you are done :D

I was pretty late today so it turned already slowly dark outside... this is the best pic I got, after I went inide and tried to take a few more pis with artificial light :)

I hope you liked my apple design :) See you tomorrow for day 5!!!

31 Day Challenge 2012 - Day 03: Yellow

Welcome Back!

Yeeeeah it´s yellow day! I wear these colour SO seldomly but actually love how bright and positive and summery it looks like :)

Here in Finland we have less than 10 degrees during the night time already and between 13 - 18 degrees on the daytime - even september JUST started... I am getting depressive already :D
So yellow just comes right to cheer me up!

Polishes I used:
  • Isadora Wonder Nail "653 Mellow Yellow"
  • Sally Hansen Insta Dry "Whirlwind White"
  • Isadora Wonder Nails "729 Marzipan"

I started with 1 layer of the white polish just to make the yellow more visible.
Then I painted over with one coat of the light yellow polish and after I added some green and yellow dots with 2 different sizes dotting tools - thats all :)

In sunlight - love how shimmery the yellow is!

Next 3 pics are in shadow

Have a great new week and not so much stress at work like me :D

See you tomorrow for day 4!!!

Green Gradient Design

Hiiiiii!

Today I was absolutely clueless what I could do with my nails, so I asked a friend (lets all wish her a big "get well soon", she just managed to break her leg ... ouch. ).
"Give me a hint, a design idea or at least some colours I should use!!!" She came up with:
RED & GREEN (and better bright than light) O_o

Oh man... this was hard :D Since I am not a big fan of red I decided to use it just as a highlight and focus on the green - here is what I came up with ^^

O.P.I. " Dont Mess With OPI"
Isadora No. 729 "Marzipan"

I painted all my nails with 2 coats of a pistachio green.

Then I prepared a make up sponge with the same light green which I already used on my nails and painted some of the dark green above. After I pushed it a few times ona  piece of paper to get rid of the polish which was just too much. as well it will create a softer gradient between the colours you used.

Then you just push the make up sponge gently a few times on your nails and it will create a nice gradient design.
And YOU should maybe better use some tape to protect your fingertips, I surely forgot it and had some mess to clean after with cotton sticks and nailpolish remover ;)

Since my friend requested as well to use some red, I decided to pick some fine red glitter from the brand technic. It is super small sparkly glitter in a clear base, perfect for my plan.

Here you can see the ready result in the shadow.

This is what it looked like in the evening sunshine :) I actually really like the contrast between red and green, I would have never used these colours together - thanks for the idea ^^

I wish you all a great weekend :)

Polka Dots Become Rings

Hello Everybody!

Here is the super easy design I created out of the polish I used for my last swatch.
All you need is basically a dotting tool or another tool you can create dots with.

I always use old lids to drop my nail polis on, it works super great and at some point you just throw them away ;)
I used both Isadora polishes to create big dots on all of my nails.

On one hand I used both colours.

On the other hand I only used the yellow polish. I wanted to see which looked better in the end.

Wait until your dots are dry and then create slightly smaller dots inside of them with your base nail polish colour. These will create the illusion of rings.
Here the hand with both colours.

And here the other one with just yellow.

I think I liked the design with 2 colours better, but your options are endless, you could use 1375 polishes if you want to :D

Polishes I used

Isadora Wonder Nail "623 Doll Pink"
Isadora Wonder Nail "653 Mellow Yellow"
Models Own "Peaches & Cream"
Mavala Mavadry

See you tomorrow for a brand new swatch!
