10 Days Summer Challenge - Day 1: Warm Colors

Hey nail-freaks ^^

I got the spontanious offer to still join a 10 Days Summer Challenge which already started one day ago, but since these guys decided to just post every 2nd day I'm good I guess ;)

Today's manicure is supposed to made oft of warm colors only. So I quickly googled it and wikipedia told me that basically every red-dish tone counts. Yellow. Orange. Red. Pink. Great ^^

This is what I came up with:

I am actally very happy with the result. I used a light yellow base color and painted all my nails with it.
After I used thin striping tape and taped 3 pieces across my nails to create these little rectangles. Then I just choose 6 warm polishes and painted my rectangles. And surely, then you remove your tape and clean up the nails with some acteone or nail polish remover.

Just one thing really make me ANGRY! I choose blue meatllic looking striping tape, and it STAINED my beautiful light yellow bast color! It's hard to see on my pics fortunately, but in real my yellow looks ugly and dirty now. Not cool... Need to use my white stripin tape the next time -_-

So, now check out what the other 4 girls did and see you tomorrow for day TWOOO :D

Byyyyye!!!

Nail Designs for Others :)

Welcome back on my blog :)

Today I wanted to show you the nail designs I did for my mum and 2 of my best friends while I was in Germany. It is somehow so exciting for me to do somebody else´s nails. And it is tricky, too, because you have no feeling at all any more how to paint and I always make a big mess around the cuticles and on the sites :D

Elegant Gold Design

My mum doesn´t like colouful or fun designs, so we agreed to use a nice silvery gold shade and top it with some tiny golden glitter :) I think it looked very pretty on her.

  • Technic Golden Glitter
  • Flormar

Green Striping Tape Manicure

One of my friends is crazy about all kind of green shades, so she got a nice manicure where I used a few pieces of striting tape :) I am really in love with these color combo *_*

  • OPI - Don´t Mess With OPI
  • Wet n Wild Fast Dry -

Pink Gradient

Hot pink with glitter - what else do I have to say :D She has a very good taste =^_^=
  • OPI - Pirouette My Whistle
  • China Glaze - Dance Baby
  • China Glaze - Sweet Hook

See you soon!!!

31 Day Challenge 2012 - Day 12: Stripes

Hiiiii!!!

Since I am really in love with thin stripes on my nails in the last weeks I could´t resist to do such a design again for today :D It s just so easy, fast and absolutely cool looking ;)
And I needed a break from all the complicated designs, was sooooooo tired after work :-P

For tomorrow I promise I will do again something more... special ^_^

Polishes I used:
  • Wet ´N Wild "Night Prowl"
  • China Glaze "Fly"

I used just one coat of Fly, it is absolutely opaque and an awesome colour! The shimmer in the sunlight is woooow! This was btw the first China Glaze polish I EVER owned :)
After I used thin striping tape from ebay to create random lines on my nails and painted over with a black polish which includes fine pink glitter particles. You can hardly see it in the pictures but in nature it was very visible and nice :)

See you tomorrow for day 13! I am already sooo excited to create a cool animal print =^___^=

31 Day Challenge 2012 - Day 09: Rainbow

Hey Everybody!

I am late today, I know :D I was just so lazy and out dancing the night before and the whole design took me forever while I skyped with my best friend in Germany, so... yeah...hours :D

But: I am done!!! And I like it ;)

Ps: Blogger, I hate you for ALWAYS turning my pictures!!!! FUUUUUU!!! >_<

Polishes I used:
  • Sally Hansen Insta Dri "Whirlwind White"
  • P2 "201"
  • Models Own "Peaches & Cream"
  • Wild & Mild "Neon Chic"
  • Wild and Crazy "Lemon"
  • O.P.I. "What´s with the Cattitude"
  • O.P.I. "Suzi says Feng Shui"
  • Essence Colour & Go "26 Break Through"
  • Sally Hansen Insta Dri  "Night Flight"
  • Sally Hansen Gem Grush "01 Showgirl Chic"
I used striping tape for taping my nails before I used the black polish to cover it :)

After I as well used a silver glitter polish to make it more...glittery ;)

I hop you like the design, I actually pretty happy with it! Even it took me forever ;)

See you tomorrow for day 10!!

Striping Tape Manicure

Hey :)

I was on a very nice wedding last saturday and wanted to show you quickly which design I took on my nails for these special day.

The dress I wore was black with a few white and purple flower ornaments on the frontside, so I decided to paint my nails black and create details with purple striping tape and a silver/white rhinestone :)

Polishes and tools I used:
Magenta-colour Striping Tape
Rhinestones
China Glaze "Smoke and Ashes"
Nubar "Blue Siren" Glitter

Stripig tape is thin sticky nail-art tape which comes in a lot of colours - matte, glittery or shiny.

Here is what I did in the end:
Thumb and ringfinger have striping tape and a white rhinestone.
The 3 other nails have Nubar glitter on top of the black polish.

These design looked very nice, but there were some HUGE issues.

What went wrong:
  1. The Striping Tape did almost NOT stick by itself on my nails. Was super hard to keep it in place until I fixed it with topcoat.
  2. The topcoat. Aaaaa! I used Essie Good To Go and it kinda made some of the tapes colour disappear! Like it was acidly or something... hell!
  3. Already ca 2 hours after the striping tape started to loosen itself on the edges and looked very weird. Eve the topcoat was not able to hold it in place. On the next day I could peel all of these tape just away from my nails because it was so broken...
So lets say it like this:
It looked very cute and was fun to try but in the end it was not worth the efford. I think I will try it again but hope to find better techniques maybe.

Somebody any tips for me? :D

See you!
