Green Gradient Design

Hiiiiii!

Today I was absolutely clueless what I could do with my nails, so I asked a friend (lets all wish her a big "get well soon", she just managed to break her leg ... ouch. ).
"Give me a hint, a design idea or at least some colours I should use!!!" She came up with:
RED & GREEN (and better bright than light) O_o

Oh man... this was hard :D Since I am not a big fan of red I decided to use it just as a highlight and focus on the green - here is what I came up with ^^

O.P.I. " Dont Mess With OPI"
Isadora No. 729 "Marzipan"

I painted all my nails with 2 coats of a pistachio green.

Then I prepared a make up sponge with the same light green which I already used on my nails and painted some of the dark green above. After I pushed it a few times ona  piece of paper to get rid of the polish which was just too much. as well it will create a softer gradient between the colours you used.

Then you just push the make up sponge gently a few times on your nails and it will create a nice gradient design.
And YOU should maybe better use some tape to protect your fingertips, I surely forgot it and had some mess to clean after with cotton sticks and nailpolish remover ;)

Since my friend requested as well to use some red, I decided to pick some fine red glitter from the brand technic. It is super small sparkly glitter in a clear base, perfect for my plan.

Here you can see the ready result in the shadow.

This is what it looked like in the evening sunshine :) I actually really like the contrast between red and green, I would have never used these colours together - thanks for the idea ^^

I wish you all a great weekend :)

Dollish Polish - Putting On The Ritzzz! & Funny stripes

Welcome Back!

Today I used the polish I already swatched sunday, "Zoo" by H&M (check my last post), and created a fun easy nail art out of it :)

H&M "Zoo" as a base

Dollish Polish "Putting on the ritzzz!"
China Glaze "White on White"

Putting on the ritzzz is a supercool transparent indie polish, packed with small and big black & white glitter pieces in hexaonal shapes. I love it so much! And just one coat is so full of glitter that it normally is absolutely enough.

I picked a small paintbrush and started to create thick white lines on my nails.

And then, when the white dried, I just painted one coat of the black & white glitter polish on top :)

Doesnt it just look super cool?

I think I definately should look out for more Dollish Polihs creations <3

Here the last shot in my poor indoor lamp light ;)

You can find Dolish Polish´s treasures on her very own homepage right HERE ^_^

Have you ever tried indie polishes? Which brands are your favourites?

H&M Glitter Polish "Zoo"

Moi!

Today I realized that I have an untouched package of an H&M polish set in one of my handbags - since 2 weeks! This cannot happen :D

Sooo now I wanna show you one of these 2 polishes, called "Zoo".

"Zoo" (left) and "City" (right)

One coat in the shadow. It is very sheer but already one coat looks kinda cute.

Two coats. It was almost opaque now but for full coverage you will need 3 coats. Since I NEVER use 3, I am lazy, I stopped after two coats and think that it is totally fine like this :)

Finally I found some sunbeams. 2 coats with a tiny bit of sun - already way more sparkle :)

Love the soft colour. It looks girly and elegant somehow :)

Watch the holographic sparkle in full evening sun <3

Blurred that you can see HOW much holographic glitter is inside!

I think I really fell in love with these polish *_*

Some facts: Very easy to work with this polish. Needs 3 coats for full coverage. Dry time was a little slow but still acceptable. Needs a topcoat to make the glitter shine and give it a smooth touch.

I would love to show you how these polish looks in real. My pictures are not able at all to show how sparkly it is. Already in normal daylight you can see the shimmer quiet well, but if you step into the sunshine - woooow :D

I havent tried the 2nd polish of this set yet, but will let you know soon how it turns out ;)

Accessorize Polish "Bronze"

Happy Friday!

Today I have nice swatches of my latest duochrome polish for you :)
I havent got any in a LONG time, so lets take a look.

These polish is from the very cool Accessorize store in Helsinki, where I ALWAYS find something to buy, like jewellery, bags, sweet stuff like stickers or notebooks ... WHATEVER :D  They offer make up since ca 6 month so I had to try out their polishes, bought 2 actually.

"Bronze" is a very interesting duochrome polish which is shifting from bronze/purple to green/gold.

Here you can see the purple/bronze shade.

And here, just when I turned my nails a little, the greenish golden shade came out.

Back to bronze

These picture captures very nicely the different shades in one shot, these should give you a very exact idea about the whole duochrome effect these polish can produce on your nails.

I used 2 coats of polish, it was easy to apply but tends to be a tiny little streaky.
Dry time was a little slow but still acceptable.

I saw so many so called Duochromes which does not show any effect, so these one is very amazing and strong - love it, I am sure I will wear it in autumn :)

Enjoy your weekend!

Balloon Nail Design

Oh Happy Daaaaaay :)

Yesterday was my 25th birthday and since I havent had any presents or a party or balloons or such stuff I wanted at least to have a little party on my nails ^_^

This is what I came up with.

My base colour: China Glaze "Aquadelic"
White striper for details

Polishes I used for the balloons

  • Wild and Crazy "Colorado Springs"
  • Models Own "Orange Sorbet"
  • China Glaze "Dance Baby"
  • Golden Rose No.207

  • O.P.I. "Suzi Says Feng Shui"
  • China Glaze "Gothic Girl"
  • China Glaze "Calypso Blue"
  • Lumene "Get Color"

I started with painting my nails in a turquoise shade, 2 coats.

Then I pickes tweezers and a tiny piece of a make up sponge and sponged random clouds on my nails with a white polish.

After I picked all kinda colours and started to create some balloons on my nails with the help of a big dotting tool. Choose which colours you want. Later I picked my white striper and created white strings to the balloons and a light reflex inside of them to give it a real look.

Thats it :D

Today it will be my first day of work in a new kindergarten, wish me luck - I am so excited ^_^

See you on friday!
