10 Days Summer Challenge - Day 05: Sunset Nails

Hi Everybody!!!

Today was a grey, rainy, ugly, horrible day and I was boooored! How perfect that I needed to create a new design for today's challenge: Sunset Nails!

I never did a sunset design but always wanted, this is why I really love nail challenges. You are kinda "forced" to do stuff and you learn a lot of new styles and techniques :)

I wanted to create something else than JUST palm trees, so I googled a lot until I found one blog which showed little black water decals, nail stickers which looked like camels, in front of a sunset gradient. So I thought "it cannot be sooo hard to freehand draw such" :D Well...it was tricky but doable.
Cat doesn't need stickers!!!! Tschakka!

So, enough writing, let's take a look at my pictures.

I really have to say: I'm so proud of myself :D
When I just looked at the gradient, I didn't like it at all, but now with the black silouettes it is awesome!

First I painted all my nails 2 coats of average yellow. I used Lumene "Get Color".

For the gradient I sponged on 4 colors from dark purple to yellow.
Purple = Wet n Wild - "Disturbia"
Red = Wild and Crazy "Colorado Springs"
Orange = OPI "Flirt a Bit"
Yellow = Lumene "Get Color"

After I used a topcoat and then I picked my "magic wand", a black nail art pen. These things are so awesome to create tiny detailed stuff on nails. I use my black one most of the time. For other things I like as well brushes, but sometimes nail art pens can be such a huge help :)

I freehanded palm trees, camels and pyramides and cleaned up the mess around my cuticles. READY!

Hope you liked it and maybe you leave me a comment ^^

See you soon, and check out the other girls before you leave!

10 Days Summer Challenge - Day 04: Textured Nails

Tervetuloa (welcome in finnish) :)

Today is texture-day! Yeeeeah!
Well... I had no clue what to do ^^ Problem: I just own 3 textured nail polishes, (orange, lavender and light pink), since I totally focussed in the last 8 month on buying almost only indies. So I googled and searched for design ideas, I surely don't wanted to wear a plain polish :)

Now I came up with a very simple but yet sweet design, which shows nicely the sandy polish effect
Surely there was no sun when I took my pictures, but they turned out well I think ^^

I used a plain white as a base coat (Sally Hansen "Whirlwind White") and topped it with a average topcoat to give some shine and protection.
After I grabbed 2 of my textured Pixie Dust polishs from Zoya (Purple = "Stevie" and Orange = "Beatrix") and 3 different sized dotting tools and just started to dot on flower shapes with purple. After I just created an orange middle and that was it :)

I applied 2 layers of white, a topcoat and 2 layers of texture polish for the flowers. The dry time was pretty slow, but I really used thick coats so I guess it's normal :)

I like how gritty and sandy and still how sparkly the texture polishes look. Very cute. So, even it was an easy design, I am pleased with the result and hope you guys are, too <3

See you friday for the next day of our challenge!

10 Days Summer Challenge - Day 3: Neon Nails

Hi, how are you doing?

I am so tired, traveled through 3 of Helsinki's areas both ways and sat in 4 trains and 2 busses, had a few things to do and went to an important job interview... phew... was a lot :)

Came hore around 4pm and sat down pretty fast to do my nails for the 3rd day of the summer challenge - and today was FUN :D

Neon is just SO cool! I am scared to be blind soon, my manicure is burning out my eyes ^^
I used 4 different neon colors over white base polish to let them more pop - and damn, they popped :D

Sorry the the flood of pictures but I needed to take a ton of them. Sadly there was no sun showing up, still they turned out bright enough I think.

I am so happy how it turned out. 1) I love to do leopard prints because they are so easy and quick and have a huge effect. And 2) I never tried it with neons and I'm literally blown away :D

Polishes I used (over Sally Hansen Insta Dri "Whirlwind White")
Orange = Models Own - "Orange Sorbet"
Yellow = Wild & Mild - "Neon Chic"
Pink = Wild & Mild -" Ultra Pink"
Green = Golden Rose No. 207

For the black outsines and dots I used a black Nail art Pen from Wild & Mild.

I used 2 coats of every neon polish. I as well created first white dots before I applied the colorful ones to really make the result outstanding.

Check out the other Summer Girls :)

See you wednesday for the next day of challenge ^^

10 Days Summer Challenge - Day 2: Cold Colors

Helloooooooooooooooo ;)

Welcome back to day 2 of our little summer challenge. Today's challenge is a manicure created out of cold colors. I was not so creative like yesterday, so I choose something nice but easy. A dry marble design.

It's actually very easy. Choose a base color of your choise. In my case OPI - "I don't give a Rotterdam", a beautiful blue-ish grey with shimmer.
Paint on a pretty thick coat and then immediately after, choose one or more other polishes to create blobs on your nail, which you later drag over the wet surface with a needle or toothpick.
I choose 3 blue polishes. Dark = OPI - "Ski Teal We Drop"
Medium = OPI - "Suzi Says Feng Shui" & Light = OPI "What's With The Cattitude?"

I think it turned out nicely :)

It was fast, simple and I think it's a cool effect. And I really HATE water marbling, so dry marblig is my friend :D

I hope you will have an awesome sunday, and see you in two days for day 3 of the challenge!
Oh, and check out the other 4 girls ;)

10 Days Summer Challenge - Day 1: Warm Colors

Hey nail-freaks ^^

I got the spontanious offer to still join a 10 Days Summer Challenge which already started one day ago, but since these guys decided to just post every 2nd day I'm good I guess ;)

Today's manicure is supposed to made oft of warm colors only. So I quickly googled it and wikipedia told me that basically every red-dish tone counts. Yellow. Orange. Red. Pink. Great ^^

This is what I came up with:

I am actally very happy with the result. I used a light yellow base color and painted all my nails with it.
After I used thin striping tape and taped 3 pieces across my nails to create these little rectangles. Then I just choose 6 warm polishes and painted my rectangles. And surely, then you remove your tape and clean up the nails with some acteone or nail polish remover.

Just one thing really make me ANGRY! I choose blue meatllic looking striping tape, and it STAINED my beautiful light yellow bast color! It's hard to see on my pics fortunately, but in real my yellow looks ugly and dirty now. Not cool... Need to use my white stripin tape the next time -_-

So, now check out what the other 4 girls did and see you tomorrow for day TWOOO :D

Byyyyye!!!
